Whether you consider yourself a singer or not, strengthening the vocal system builds the confidence to speak up and trust the power of your authentic expression.
Many forces swirl about— both internally and externally— that shut down our voices. Most of us have experienced the tightness and emotion that comes up in the throat when we begin to communicate what we stand for and what’s important to us— especially when there’s an ancestral or body memory of trauma or punishment for doing so.
Join me on Zoom for voice workshops where we will work with tools for releasing blocks in the vocal system, building vocal strength and nurturing positive relationships with our voices. Classes consist of a 10-minute warm-up, 20-minute class, then an optional 15-minute question/answer session. All classes will be recorded and downloadable by those who have purchased the class, whether you’re able to attend or not. Students may choose to have video on or off and will be muted for their privacy.

Learn the fundamentals in these classes, where we focus on building a deeper rapport with our voices and work with the body to locate support, resonance, and expression. Specific attention is paid to connecting with the diaphragm, as well as breathing and sound micro-practices that strengthen and tone the entire vocal system.
VAGAL TONING | MANTRA | VISHUDDHA CHAKRA
Relax—> nurture—> align—> integrate—> heal—> manifest.
The vagus nerve is the longest nerve in the body and connects to the heart, lungs, stomach, intestines and more. The vagus nerve is a key component of the parasympathetic nervous system and influences breathing, digestive function, heart rate, and mental health. Voice classes in this group focus on relaxing the voice and practicing sounds and breathing techniques that increase vagal tone and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which both increases the fluidity of our singing and makes use of the voice as a tool for relaxation and stress management. Once we establish a relaxed system, the voice can be experienced as an embodied, vibratory channel for energizing and uplifting the body and spirit. Mantra and Vishuddha classes deepen our relationship to our vocal system’s inner energies and its powers of manifestation.
